Emma's Pound Cake

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  2. Cream together butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and mix well.
  4. Add flour mixture alternately with milk.
  5. Stir in Sherry and vanilla and mix well.
  6. Bake at 325 degrees in a greased and floured 10" tube pan for 1 hour and 30 - 40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool in pan for 20 minutes before removing.
