Blarney Stones (Cookies) Recipe
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1 c. raisins
- 1/2 c. nuts
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon hot water
- 1/2 pound dates
- 3 Large eggs
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- Cream butter, sugar and molasses.
- Add in unbeaten Large eggs, then nuts, dates and raisins.
- Add in soda dissolved in 1 tsp.
- hot water.
- Combine flour and spices; sift into mix to make stiff dough.
- Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 10-15 min.
