Easy Pan-Fried Chikuwa with Mayonnaise and Grated Cheese

  1. Slice the chikuwa lengthwise into fourths.
  2. Roll them up and secure with a toothpick.
  3. Do the same with the others.
  4. You can make 2 toothpicks worth with a single chikuwa.
  5. Squeeze out a few centimeters of mayonnaise into an unheated pan.
  6. Dab onto both sides of the chikuwa.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheese onto both sides as well.
  8. Turn the heat on, and pan-fry both sides.
  9. Voila Also good to pack in bentos.
  10. Here's what it looks like if you roll them up with the white part inside.
  11. Either way is fine.
