Crisp Rice Date Nut Balls

  1. In sauce pan, combine sugar, margarine, salt and dates.
  2. Allow to boil for five minutes, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat, add vanilla.
  4. Fold in crisp rice cereal and nuts.
  5. While warm, roll into balls and let dry on waxed paper or racks.
  6. To make balls, butter hand well and keep buttering while you work.
  7. When cold, roll into confectioners sugar.
