Honey Nut Bread Recipe
- 1 c. skim lowfat milk
- 1 c. honey
- 1 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp. baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 c. acceptable butter
- 1 whole egg plus 2 egg whites, lightly beaten
- 1/2 c. minced walnuts
- Vegetable oil spray
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- In a small saucepan, heat lowfat milk and honey over medium high heat till very hot, 120 to 130 degrees.
- In large bowl, combine whole wheat and all-purpose flours, baking pwdr and salt.
- Add in liquid mix and beat.
- Add in butter and Large eggs and continue beating till well blended.
- Mix in nuts.
- Lightly grease two 9x5x3 inch loaf pans with vegetable oil spray.
- Pour in bread mix and bake 45-60 min or possibly till cake tester inserted into center of the loaf comes out moist, but not wet.
- Makes 2 loaves, 10 slices per loaf.
- Single slices can be wrapped in foil and frzn.
