Acadian Blueberry Grunt Recipe
- 1 quart blueberries
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 4 tsp baking pwdr
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp. each butter and shortening
- 3/4 c. lowfat milk
- Combine berries, water, sugar in large saucepan; cover and cook till there is plenty of juice.
- Mix flour, baking pwdr, sugar and salt.
- Cut in butter and shortening, mixing with a fork.
- Add in sufficient lowfat milk to make dough soft.
- Drop by Tbsp.
- onto warm blueberry sauce.
- Cover tightly.
- Cook 15 min without peeking.
- Serve warm.
- Yield: 6-8 servings.
