Nut Bread
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup raisins, seedless
- 3/4 cup water cold
- 1 cup flour, all-purpose
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 cups graham flour
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup nuts chopped
- Sift white flour, measure, and sift with salt and baking powder.
- Add graham or whole wheat flour.
- Combine sugar, water, molasses, and milk.
- Add dry ingredients, nuts, and raisins.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Pour into well-oiled baking pans.
- Bake in moderate oven 375F (190C).
