- 200 grams Beef thin cut (trimmings or offcuts are fine)
- 1 tbsp Oil (for frying)
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 1 1/2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 clove Garlic (grated)
- 20 cm Japanese leek stalks (minced)
- 1 tbsp White sesame seeds
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1 Red chili pepper (thinly sliced)
- 5 shakes Black pepper
- 1 tsp (to taste) Gochujang (optional)
- Mince the onions.
- Remove the seeds from the chili and slice into rounds.
- Add all of the ingredients listed for the dipping sauce and mix.
- Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces and mix well with the sauce, kneading lightly.
- Allow to soak for 15 minutes.
- Oil a pan (if necessary) and fry the beef over medium heat while separating the pieces.
- Once the liquid has evaporated, it's finished!
- I tried topping with chopped green onions, white leek and shredded red chili peppers.
- Bulgogi version: I tried making bulgogi with the vegetables soaked together with the meat.
- The onion, carrot, and green pepper were all minced.
- For the recipe for the bulgogi version, see: Recommended with Rice!
