Fruitcake
- 2 lbs dates
- 1 cup candied cherry
- 1 lb brazil nut
- 1 lb walnuts
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 12 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 12 cup cherry juice
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 tablespoons lard
- melt lard
- sift dry ingredients together
- beat eggs well.
- leave dates cherries and nuts whole
- mix the fruit and nuts with flour mixture
- add cherry juice and vanilla
- add eggs
- and lard.
- bake in 2 lined and greased pans at 300 degrees for about 1 1/2 hours.
