Easy Bread Rolls
- 500 grams flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 packages instant yeast
- 40 grams light margarine
- 100 ml low fat milk
- 200 ml water
- Mix the flour, salt, sugar and instant yeast together in a bowl.
- Mix in margarine (or butter) by hand until well mixed and flaky.
- Heat water and milk, mix together and mix in with flour.
- Knead dough for 10-20 minutes and cover with cloth for 5 minutes to raise.
- Preheat oven to 220C.
- Knead dough again and cover to raise for additional 20 minutes.
- Shape dough into small balls and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve with butter or use as mini hamburger rolls and enjoy.
- Note: This recipe is simple and interchangable.
- I have baked many variants,including using cake flour, oil instead of butter, no water, baking soda and powder instead of yeast etc.
- and it still tasted great, albeit a different texture.
- The idea is to enjoy baking and use what is available.
