Chocolate Mint Date Bread Recipe
- 6 ounce. chocolate chips
- 1 pkg. Pillsbury date or possibly nut bread mix
- 1 c. water
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease and flour bottom only of 8x4 or possibly 9x5 loaf pan.
- Heat chocolate chips (reserve 2 Tbsp.
- for frosting).
- Combine melted chips, bread mix, water, egg and 1/2 tsp.
- extract.
- stir till moistened.
- Bake 55-60 min.
- When cold, combine frosting ingredients.
- Add in 2 Tbsp.
- melted chocolate chips.
- Spread onto bread and sprinkle with crushed peppermint candy.
