Bajan Spice Syrup
- 1 tablespoon whole cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick, crushed
- 1 tablespoon cracked or very coarsely grated nutmeg
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- In a small saucepan, combine cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Add water and sugar and bring to a boil.
- Cook over low heat for 15 minutes.
- Strain the syrup into a heatproof jar and let cool, then cover and refrigerate for up to 1 month.
