Sweet Spaghetti
- 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 whole Large Sweet Yellow Onion, Diced
- 1 package Sweet Italian Sausage Links (1-2 Pounds)
- 3 cloves Garlic, Minced
- 1 whole Green Bell Pepper, Diced
- 2 cans (15 Oz. Size) Italian Diced Tomatoes
- 1 jar (14 Oz. Size) 5-Cheese Spaghetti Sauce
- 1 can Tomato Sauce (8 Ounce)
- 2 cans Tomato Paste (4 Ounce Cans)
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 1- 1/2 Tablespoon Dried Basil
- 1 Tablespoon Dried Oregano
- 2 Tablespoons Italian Seasoning
- 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
- 5 Tablespoons Sugar
- 1 pound Spaghetti, Cooked And Drained
- Heat a dutch oven over medium high heat.
- Heat olive oil in pan until glossy.
- Add chopped onion to pan and cook until it is tender and slightly caramelized.
- While the onion is caramelizing, remove sausage from casings.
- Add sausage, garlic and bell pepper to onions and allow sausage to brown and bell pepper to soften.
- Once sausage and veggies are cooked, add remaining ingredients (except the pasta), stir to combine.
- Taste to check seasonings and allow to simmer for 45 minutes 1 hour.
- Serve over cooked spaghetti.
- Top with grated Parmesan Cheese and Garlic Bread.
- Variation: Sliced mushrooms can be added with sauces and spices and allowed to simmer.
