Smoky Sunflower Seeds

  1. Heat the oil in a large frying pan on medium high heat.
  2. Add the sunflower seeds and garlic.
  3. Stir.
  4. When the seeds begin to change color, reduce the heat to medium and continue stirring until about half the seeds are lightly browned, less than 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the seeds from the heat, and add salt to taste.
  6. After 5 minutes, when the sunflower seeds begin to cool, add the hickory seasoning or soy sauce and stir well.
  7. Allow the seeds to cool completely.
  8. Store in a tightly covered jar or tin.
