Smoky Sunflower Seeds
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cup shelled raw sunflower seeds
- 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon salt is what I use, but use more ore less to taste
- 8 garlic cloves, minced (4 teaspoons)
- 1 tsp hickory smoke seasoning or 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- Heat the oil in a large frying pan on medium high heat.
- Add the sunflower seeds and garlic.
- Stir.
- When the seeds begin to change color, reduce the heat to medium and continue stirring until about half the seeds are lightly browned, less than 5 minutes.
- Remove the seeds from the heat, and add salt to taste.
- After 5 minutes, when the sunflower seeds begin to cool, add the hickory seasoning or soy sauce and stir well.
- Allow the seeds to cool completely.
- Store in a tightly covered jar or tin.
