Butter Cake Recipe
- 1/2 c. Butter or possibly butter substitute
- 1 c. Sugar
- 2 x Large eggs
- 3/4 c. Lowfat milk
- 2 c. Flour
- 2 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- Cream sugar and butter.
- Add in egg yolks and beat thoroughly.
- Sift flour, measure, and sift with baking pwdr and salt.
- Add in alternately with lowfat milk to creamed sugar and butter.
- Beat thoroughly.
- Add in flavoring.
- Mix in stiffly beaten egg whites.
- Pour into well-oiled layer cake pans.
- Bake in moderate oven (375 F) about 25 min.
- When cold, put layers together with peach filling.
