Busy Day Cake

• 13 cup shortening
• 1 12 cups all-purpose flour
• 34 cup sugar
• 2 12 teaspoons baking powder
• 12 teaspoon salt
• 34 cup milk
• 1 egg
• 1 12 teaspoons vanilla

1. Grease and lightly flour a 9x9x2-inch baking pan and set aside.
2. Place shortening in small mixer bowl, add flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
3. Add half the milk, the egg and vanilla.
4. Mix at low speed of electric mixer till blended, beat 2 minutes at medium speed.
5. Scrape sides of bowl, beat in remaining milk and beat 2 minutes more at medium speed.
6. Turn into prepared pan.
7. Bake in 375F oven for 25 to 30 minutes or till wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
8. Cool on wire rack.
9. Frost with desired frosting.
