Microwave Southern Pralines Recipe

  1. Combine sugar, half and half and salt in a deep 3 qt casserole.
  2. Mix well.
  3. Stir in butter; microwave at high for 7-10 min or possibly till mix reaches soft ball stage (235 degrees) stirring once.
  4. Stir in pecans.
  5. Cold about 1 minute.
  6. Beat by hand till mix is creamy and begins to thicken (about 3 min).
  7. Drop by Tbsp.
  8. onto waxed paper.
  9. Let stand till hard.
  10. Yield about 2 dozen.
