Slow Cooked Vegan Bananas Foster

  1. This is a tasty dessert.
  2. I prepare the topping vegan (no butter) and serve over a sorbet or non-dairy ice cream.
  3. Slice bananas.
  4. These are traditionally sliced lengthwise, but I prefer to slice mine so they are round and bite sized.
  5. Add sugar, spice and pineapple juice to slow cooker.
  6. Turn on low.
  7. Stir until blended.
  8. Add bananas to slow cooker.
  9. Add rum.
  10. Stir the contents of the cooker until the bananas are well coated.
  11. Cover the slow cooker.
  12. Let cook three hours on low.
  13. Turn off slow cooker.
  14. Scoop sorbet or non dairy ice cream into bowl.
  15. Add bananas with liberal amount of sauce to bowl.
  16. Enjoy!
  17. Vegetarian rather than vegan?
  18. Add 2 tablespoons butter to slow cooker with the spices, and serve over ice cream or frozen yogurt if you prefer.
