Caramelized Onion And Broccoli Quiche
- 1 extra large yellow onion, to equal 1 cup when cooked down
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 cup steamed broccoli, finely chopped
- 4 eggs, beaten well
- 1 1/2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cup half and half
- 3/4 cup muenster cheese, shredded
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tbsp chives, chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 cup asiago cheese, shredded
- 1 , 9" pie crust, fresh or store bought
- In a large pan over low medium heat add butter and cook until melted.
- Thinly slice onion and add to the pan.
- Stir to coat in butter and allow to slowly caramelize.
- This can take 20 minutes.
- Set onions aside after cooked.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine half and half, flour, muenster cheese, eggs, chives and seasonings.
- Mix well.
- Stir in onions and steamed chopped broccoli.
- Pour mixture into pie crust.
- Top with asiago cheese.
- Bake in a preheated 450AF oven for 20-25 minutes or until a light golden brown.
- Place pie on a baking tray in case of spillage during baking.
- Let cool 15 minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
