Cinnamon-Spiced Sugar Cookies

  1. Mix 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp.
  2. cinnamon; reserve for later use.
  3. Combine flour, nutmeg, ginger, baking soda and remaining cinnamon.
  4. Beat cream cheese, butter, vanilla, remaining sugar and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until blended.
  5. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well after each addition.
  6. Refrigerate 30 min.
  7. Heat oven to 350F.
  8. Shape dough into 42 (1-inch) balls; roll in reserved sugar mixture.
  9. Place, 4 inches apart, on baking sheets.
  10. Flatten to 1/4-inch thickness with bottom of glass dipped in remaining sugar mixture.
  11. Bake 10 to 12 min.
  12. or until edges are lightly browned.
  13. Cool on baking sheet 1 min.
  14. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
