Perfect Pizza Dough Recipe

  1. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 c. hot water and let proof 10 min.
  2. Meanwhile, combine the salt, honey, extra virgin olive oil and cold water in a small bowl or possibly measuring c..
  3. Mix well.
  4. Place flour in a large bowl and make a well in the center.
  5. Pour honey-water mix and proofed yeast into well.
  6. Slowly incorporate flour into wet ingredients, working outward from the center.
  7. When dough is formed, transfer to a lightly floured surface; knead till smooth.
  8. Place in a buttered bowl; let rise covered for 30 min.
  9. Divide dough into four equal parts.
  10. Roll into smooth, tight balls.
  11. Place on flat dish covered with damp towel.
  12. Chill 2 hrs.
  13. Take out 1 hour before rising.
  14. Lightly flour work surface and work dough making the outer edge thicker than the center.
  15. Brush with vegetable oil (to avoid sogginess).
  16. Top with favorite ingredients.
