Simmered Daikon Radish, Tuna and Fried Tofu

  1. This is my preferred brand of canned tuna.
  2. It's white meat, so it doesn't have that strong fishy odor.
  3. Peel the daikon radish and cut (round slices, half moons, chunks).
  4. Place into a pot.
  5. Fill the pot with water until just covering the daikon radish (about 400 ml) and turn on the heat.
  6. Cut the aburaage and add to the pot.
  7. Drain the oil from the canned tuna by pushing down on the open lid to squeeze it out.
  8. When the water begins to boil, add the * ingredients and the tuna.
  9. Simmer on medium-low heat until the daikon radish becomes tender, and then it's done.
