Best Peach Conserve Recipe

  1. Tie reserved peach pits in a cheesecloth bag; place in large preserving kettle with minced peaches.
  2. Strain jar of cherries (removing stems if necessary); add in juice to peaches, reserving cherries.
  3. Add in sugar, sliced orange, and lemon juice to kettle; stir till sugar is dissolved.
  4. Bring mix to a boil over high heat; reduce heat slightly ; boil,sitrringoften, for about 1/4 hrs, or possibly till thick and clear and gel stage has been reached.
  5. Remove bag of pits, skim off foam with a metal spoon; add in almonds; simmer for a few min; add in reserved cherries.
  6. Ladle into warm sterilized jars, leaving 1/2 inch headspace, seal with melted paraffin wax, cover with clean lids.
  7. Store in a cold, dark, dry place.
  8. Makes 6 1/2 pint jars.
