Michigan Christmas Hard Candy Recipe
- 3/4 c. white sugar
- 1 1/2 c. white corn syrup
- 1 c. water
- 1 teaspoon desired flavoring
- Combine in heavy saucepan or possibly heavy skillet.
- Stir with wooden spoon till it comes to a boil.
- Turn heat down and put in candy thermometer.
- Cook to 310 degrees.
- Add in tsp.
- flavoring.
- You can use 2 cookie sheets or possibly a piece of heavy foil about 18 x 24 which has been covered with powdered sugar.
- Pour out the warm liquid and allow to cold till you can handle it.
- Cut into long strips with scissors and cut into bite-size pcs.
- If it cools too much, you will need to break it into pcs.
- Half recipes can be made if you do not want too much of one flavor.
- The flavorings are concentrated oil flavorings.
