Barbeque Turkey Recipe
- 1 pound cooked turkey, sliced
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 1 med. onion, sliced and separated into rings
- 1 sm. green pepper, cut into strips
- 1 c. catsup
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- Brown sugar substitute = 2 teaspoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic pwdr
- Heat butter in large skillet; add in onion and green pepper.
- Cook and stir on medium heat till tender.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Add in turkey.
- Cover.
- Simmer 10 min.
- Serve on appropriate number slices of bread or possibly rolls for diet.
- Yield: 8.
- Exchanges: 2 meat, 1/2 bread, 1 veg.
- Calories: 205, 105 g = 7-16-3 (C, P, F).
- Low sodium (3-4 gm Na) : use low sodium catsup and Mrs.
- Dash Steak sauce.
- Low cholesterol: Use polyunsaturated butter.
