Mariane's Gingersnaps
- 34 cup margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 14 cup corn syrup (Karo)
- 14 cup molasses
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add egg, syrup and molasses.
- Mix in sifted dry ingredients.
- Cool dough overnight or at least 4 hours.
- (If you are in a hurry I have put the dough in freezer for 1/2 hour or so.)
- Roll small balls (small tbls) and roll in sugar.
- Place on greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 350 degrees 10-12 minutes.
- Don't overbake.
- Note from Mariane: I sometimes even use almost 1/3 c each of the syrup and molasses.
- Makes them chewier.
