Mariane's Gingersnaps

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add egg, syrup and molasses.
  3. Mix in sifted dry ingredients.
  4. Cool dough overnight or at least 4 hours.
  5. (If you are in a hurry I have put the dough in freezer for 1/2 hour or so.)
  6. Roll small balls (small tbls) and roll in sugar.
  7. Place on greased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake 350 degrees 10-12 minutes.
  9. Don't overbake.
  10. Note from Mariane: I sometimes even use almost 1/3 c each of the syrup and molasses.
  11. Makes them chewier.
