Honey-Roasted Ham or Turkey with Dried Cherry Relish

  1. Stir creme de cassis, 1/2 cup water and sugar in heavy medium saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. Bring to boil.
  3. Add dried cherries.
  4. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until cherries are plump, about 5 minutes.
  5. Mix in pecans and orange peel.
  6. Season relish lightly with salt.
  7. Transfer to bowl.
  8. Cool.
  9. (Can be made 1 week ahead.
  10. Cover and refrigerate.)
  11. Place ham or turkey on platter.
  12. Place bowl with cherry relish alongside.
  13. Serve with dinner rolls, if desired.
