Perfect Baked Chicken
- 4 Chicken Breast, boneless, skinless
- 1/2 tsp Fine ground sea salt, (regular salt would work)
- 1/2 tsp fresh cracked black pepper, (regular ground black pepper would work)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper (optional, if you don't like heat, leave it out)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- Clean chicken by removing any fat, tendons, etc.
- Set aside.
- Mix spices in a bowl.
- Set aside.
- Preheat iron skillet, or dutch oven on stove top.
- Preheat oven to 400F.
- Sprinkle spice mix on chicken, both sides.
- Put butter and oil in skillet and let get hot.
- Brown chicken on both sides letting it get a nice brown sear on it.
- Cover skillet or dutch oven with lid or aluminum foil and place in preheated oven.
- Let bake for 25 minutes or until juices run clear.
- This chicken can be eaten as is.
- Shredded for tacos, cut up and used in casseroles, etc.
- I got this recipe online a while back and modified it to my family's taste.
- This recipe calls for 4 boneless skinless breasts, but I used a pack of 3 large ones when I took these pictures.
- You could always adjust to what you have 2- 4 chicken pieces.
- Also, could use thighs, drumsticks, bone in, bone out, doesn't matter!!
