Bavarian Cabbage Recipe
- 1 lrg onion coarsely minced
- 2 Tbsp. butter or possibly margarine
- 1 med cabbage head - (abt 2 lbs) coarsely shredded
- 1 can Spam luncheon meat - (7 ounce) diced
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 tsp caraway seeds
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 2 tsp sugar
- In large saucepan, saute/fry onion in butter till golden, stirring often.
- Add in cabbage, Spam, water, caraway seeds, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil; cover and simmer 10 min.
- Stir in vinegar and sugar; mix well.
