slice 'n' bake lemon gems

  1. Cream butter and confectioners sugar, until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in lemon peel.
  3. Combine flour and cornstarch, then slowly add to cream mixture.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  5. Shape into a 1-3/4-in.-diameter roll; roll in nonpareils.
  6. Wrap in plastic wrap.
  7. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours or until firm.
  8. Unwrap and cut into 1/4-in.
  9. slices.
  10. Place 1 in.
  11. apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  12. Bake at 375 for 9-11 minutes.
  13. Let cool combine icing ingredients.
