Faux Pork Cutlet (Tofu Cutlet)
- 1/2 block Firm tofu
- 1 All-purpose flour
- 1 Egg
- 1 Panko
- 1 Cabbage
- Place a weight on top of the tofu to drain, then slice into 3 mm thick slabs.
- Lightly season with salt and pepper, then coat first in flour, then whisked egg, and finally in panko.
- Deep fry in medium-hot oil until nicely browned, then drain excess oil.
- Serve with finely shredded cabbage, Japanese mustard, sauce, soy sauce, or mentsuyu.
