Asian Noodle Salad Recipe

  1. To prepare salad, add in noodles to a large kettle of boiling salted water.
  2. When water returns to a boil and noodles come to top, cook till just tender (2 to 3 min).
  3. (If another type of pasta is used, follow package directions.)
  4. Drain, rinse with cool water, and drain again.
  5. In a large bowl mix noodles with sesame oil; set aside.
  6. Stir sesame seeds in a small frying pan over medium heat till lightly browned (6 to 8 min); cold.
  7. Add in bean sprouts to a large kettle of boiling water; when it returns to a boil, remove from heat, drain, rinse with cool water, and drain again; add in to noodles.
  8. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour.
  9. To prepare Soy Dressing, mix vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, ginger, mustard, and cayenne in a small bowl.
  10. Using a whisk gradually fold in oil till blended.
  11. NOTES : To serve, lightly combine noodle mix, sesame seeds, shrimp, onion, celery, mushrooms, and Soy Dressing.
