Preparation of Daikon Radish for Making Oden Hot Pot in a Pressure Cooker
- 1/2 Daikon radish
- 4 grams Dashi stock granules
- 200 ml Water
- Cut the daikon radish into 2-cm thick rounds, then peel the skins.
- Shave the sharp edges of the daikon with a peeler.
- Arrange the daikon in a pressure cooker, add the dashi stock granules and water, cover with the lid, then heat.
- Once the pressure cooker valve starts to jiggle, reduce to low heat and cook for 15 minutes.
- Turn off the heat, and set aside until the pressure releases naturally.
- Stew them up with other oden items in oden broth and enjoy.
