Cardamon Bread

  1. Sprinkle yeast into warm water with 1 tablespoon sugar; set aside 5 to 10 minutes or until foamy.
  2. Scald milk and add remaining sugar, margarine and salt.
  3. When margarine has melted, remove from heat, cool to lukewarm and add spices.
  4. Combine with yeast mixture and gradually stir in enough flour to make a stiff dough.
  5. Knead for 10 minutes or until dough is smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl, turn to grease bottom and cover.
  6. Let set 1 1/2 hours or until elastic and smooth.
  7. Place in baking pan which has been buttered or oiled.
  8. Let rise 1/2 hour.
  9. Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 to 45 minutes.
