Chocolate Citrus Truffle Cookies

  1. Heat oven to 375F.
  2. Combine butter and powdered sugar in large bowl.
  3. Beat at medium speed until creamy.
  4. Add cocoa, orange zest and vanilla; continue beating until well mixed.
  5. Add flour and salt; beat at low speed until well mixed.
  6. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips.
  7. Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
  8. Place 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  9. Bake 9-12 minutes or until cookies are set.
  10. Cool completely.
  11. Place 1 cup chocolate chips and shortening in small bowl.
  12. Microwave 1 minute; stir.
  13. Continue microwaving 30 seconds or until almost melted.
  14. Stir until smooth.
  15. Place cookies on waxed paper or cooling rack; drizzle melted chocolate over cookies.
  16. Let stand until set.
