Caramel Popcorn

  1. Pop popcorn; place popped popcorn in a buttered roasting pan and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan mix margarine, salt, brown sugar and Karo.
  3. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  4. Boil for 5 minutes stirring constantly.
  5. Remove from stove.
  6. Add 2 tsp vanilla and a 1/2 teaspoons baking soda.
  7. Mix well (this will be foamy).
  8. Pour over popcorn and mix well.
  9. Bake 250F for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  10. Pour onto cookie sheets and let cool.
