Garlic and Cheese Grits
- 2 cups water cold
- 1/2 cup corn grits corn grits, yellow or white
- 1 teaspoon sea salt optional
- 1/2 pound cheddar cheese, very old, sharp grated
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 each eggs beaten, or egg replacer
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1 cloves garlic peeled and minced
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- In large saucepan mix well; water, grits and salt.
- Bring to simmer and cook until grits are very thick; remove from heat.
- Oil 13 x 9 inch baking dish.
- Stir together in sauce pan grits and remaining ingredients; pour into prepared dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle top with additional paprika.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 350F (180C).
