Buck County's Spareribs Recipe
- 3 lb spareribs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 x 1 pound can sauerkraut liquid removed
- 1 x apple cored and diced
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Cut spareribs into serving-size pcs.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Place on a rack in a baking pan.
- Brown in oven 15 min; turn and brown other side about 10 to 15 min.
- Pour off fat.
- Spoon sauerkraut into bottom of slow cooker.
- Top with apple; sprinkle sugar over apple.
- Place ribs on top.
- Cover and cook on Low 5 1/2 to 6 hrs or possibly till ribs are tender.
- Serve warm.
