Buck County's Spareribs Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Cut spareribs into serving-size pcs.
  3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. Place on a rack in a baking pan.
  5. Brown in oven 15 min; turn and brown other side about 10 to 15 min.
  6. Pour off fat.
  7. Spoon sauerkraut into bottom of slow cooker.
  8. Top with apple; sprinkle sugar over apple.
  9. Place ribs on top.
  10. Cover and cook on Low 5 1/2 to 6 hrs or possibly till ribs are tender.
  11. Serve warm.
