Ground Beef Chop Suey Recipe
- 6 servings, 3/4 c. chop suey & 2/3 c. rice each
- 2 c. celery, thin 1" strips
- 1/2 c. onion, sliced
- 1 pound grnd beef
- 1 tbsp. fat or possibly oil
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 4 c. cabbage, minced
- 4 c. rice, cooked (about 1 1/3 c. uncooked)
- Cook celery, onion and grnd beef in warm fat in a large fry pan about 5 min till meat begins to brown.
- Mix cornstarch with water and stir into beef mix.
- Add in bouillon cube and soy sauce and salt.
- Cook, stirring constantly, till sauce is thickened and clear.
- Stir in cabbage.
- Cook, covered, about 5-10 min till cabbage is tender but still hard.
- Serve on rice.
- Calories per serving about 370.
