Ladybirds Penguin Pears

  1. Cut the stalks off from tops of the pears .
  2. If pears foot sit flat , slice a piece from the very bottom of the pears so that it sits flat and coat the cut bottoms with lemon juice so that the pears flesh doesn't go brown .
  3. In the middle of one side of the pear , lightly mark out a semi circle with a thin sharp knife , then peal the skin from out the inside of the circle to leave the bear pear flesh , as to create a tummy , coat the exposed flesh with lemon juice so that the pears flesh doesn't go brown
  4. Using the sharp thin knife , slice either side of the flesh tummy , but making sure not to slice all the way through , so to leave the side pieces loose so you can create the wings .
  5. Using the carrot , cut out 10 tiny wedge pieces so that they can be used to hold the wings out .
  6. Then cut out 5 small triangle pieces of the carrot which will be used to create the noses , dip carrot pieces into lemon juice so to stop them turning grey .
  7. Break up the chocolate and place in heatproof bowl and melt , either by using the microwave on high in short busts stirring between each busts until chocolate is melted and smooth .
  8. Or over a pot of simmering water not letting the water touch the bowl with the chocolate in it till melted and smooth .
  9. Using a paint brush and paint the melted chocolate all over the pear skin ,leaving the pear flesh bear from any chocolate .
  10. Or as i did , use your finger , as it worked easier for me that way :-$ .
  11. And put aside to set , repeat with remaining chocolate and pears .
  12. Using one of the little white chocolate buttons , melt the top slightly then place one of the tiny milk chocolate dots to the top of the melted bit of white chocolate button so to create the eyes .
  13. I used my lighter to melt the tops slightly .
  14. :-$ .
  15. Repeat with remaining buttons and dots .
  16. Add a little of the remaining melted dark chocolate to the underneath of 2 of the prepared button eyes and stick them either side above the circle of pear flesh as the eyes .
  17. Repeat with remaining prepared eyes and pears .
  18. Now using the 5 prepared triangle pieces .
  19. One at a time per pear , add a little of the dark melted chocolate to the flat end and then press it onto the prepared pear , above the circle of pear flesh but below the eyes in the middle as the nose .
  20. Hold till it sets .
  21. Repeat with remaining prepared carrot pieces and pears .
  22. Using the last of the left over melted dark chocolate and a piece of baking paper , place 10 small blobs of the melted chocolate onto the baking paper and spread the little chocolate blobs into little triangle shapes , now place baking paper with triangles of chocolate on it into the freezer for 10 minutes to set .
  23. Once set remove prepared chocolate triangles from the freezer and melt the backs of 2 of the triangles and stick them on the bottom of the pear underneath the circle pear flesh and hold them till they set .
  24. Or add a little melted chocolate to the tops of 2 of the triangles then place them at the bottom of the pear , underneath the circle pear flesh , hold them till they set , so to create feet , repeat with remaining triangles and pears .
  25. Once you have made the Penguins , place them into the fridge to set .
  26. Once set place on serving plate , step back and see what you have just created and enjoy .
  27. :-) .
