Sweet and Simple Spaghetti
- 1 pound Spaghetti
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 cup Sliced Mushrooms
- 2 cloves Garlic (or 1 Teaspoon Of Crushed Garlic)
- 1 pound Ground Beef Or Turkey
- 2 teaspoons Salt
- 2 dashes Pepper
- 26 ounces, weight Marinara Sauce (we Like Trader Joe's)
- 1/4 cups Sugar (you May Want More, Depending On Your Taste)
- 1/2 cups Sliced Black Olives
- 3 dashes Dried Oregano
- 2 dashes Thyme
- Grated Parmesan, To Serve
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet.
- Cook mushrooms and garlic until brown and tender.
- Remove from the pan to a separate bowl.
- Brown ground beef/turkey in the same skillet and season with salt and pepper or seasoning salt.
- Drain excess fat/oil and return to the pan.
- Lower heat to medium/low and add marinara sauce.
- Add sugar and salt and adjust to taste.
- (My husband likes the sauce sweet so I usually use 1/3-1/2 cup sugar.)
- Add olives, mushrooms, and other spices to taste and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Drain pasta and heap on however much sauce youd like.
- Top off with fresh grated parmesan and enjoy!
