Fried Pickles
- 1/2 cup + 1/3C flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
- 1 tsp garlic pwdr
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp cayenne
- 1 cup beer
- 1 canola oil for frying
- 12 pickle spears, patted dry
- In bowl, mix 1/2C flour, cornmeal, baking pwdr, garlic pwdr, salt & cayenne.
- Stir in beer; let batter stand 15min to thicken.
- Meanwhile, in nonstick skillet, heat 2" oil to 375*F. Coat pickles one at a time in remaining 1/3C flour; dip in batter to cover completely.
- Fry in batches, turning occasionally until golden; 3-4min.
- Drain on paper towel.
