Miner's Choice Soup Beans Recipe

• 1 pound pkg. pinto beans
• Chunk of salt pork or possibly 2 ham hocks or possibly bacon grease
• Water
• Salt to taste

1. Cook beans according to package directions, cooking with piece of meat or possibly bacon grease.
2. Cook with quite a bit of water.
3. When beans are tender, drain most of liquid into a large kettle.
4. Bring to a boil and add in dumplings.
5. Cook 15 min or possibly till dumplings are done (low heat).
6. Season with black pepper and serve, beans in one bowl and dumplings in another.
7. Do not mix them.
