Croatian Apple Sauce (From1888.)

  1. Peal the apples and cut them into 1/8 parts.
  2. Melt butter in a pan, add apples and wine.
  3. Saute it until apples becomes soft enough to mash them into a puree.
  4. Just before mashing in, add honey and cinnamon.
  5. Mash the apples.
  6. Serve cooled on room temperature with pork or poultry roasts.
