Braised King Oyster Mushrooms with Oyster Sauce and Mustard
- 1 pack King oyster mushrooms
- 2 tsp Soy sauce
- 2 tsp Cooking sake
- 2 tsp Oyster sauce
- 2 tsp Japanese mustard (a paste of mustard powder mixed with water, or tubed and store-bought)
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp Chicken stock
- 200 ml Water
- 1 as liked Black pepper, green scallion
- Here's a pack of king oyster mushrooms.
- It weighed about 120 g.
- Slice them into pieces with 5 mm thickness.
- Put all ingredients into a pot.
- Make sure to dissolve the Japanese mustard well.
- When it's dissolved, turn the heat on.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and cover the pot.
- When it comes to a boil, continue simmering and reduce it for 5 minutes over low heat.
- When the mushrooms are soft and browned, it's ready to eat.
- Top with black pepper and green scallions if you like.
- Here's a variation using shiitake mushrooms that also tasted amazing.
