Mashed Turnips with Nutmeg

  1. Preheat oven to 325F.
  2. Toss turnips and butter in 13 x 9 x 2-inch glass baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle turnips with salt and pepper.
  4. Cover dish with foil.
  5. Bake until tender, about 1 hour.
  6. Remove from oven and mash coarsely.
  7. Stir in nutmeg.
  8. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
