Smoked Pork Chops With Apples Recipe
- 6 pork rib or possibly loin chops, about 3/4 inch thick
- 1 c. cranberry apple drink
- 1/2 c. maple syrup
- 2 tbsp. cider vinegar
- 2 med. sized red cooking apples
- In a 12 inch skillet over high heat, heat pork chops, cranberry drink, syrup and vinegar to boiling.
- Reduce heat to medium and cover and cook 15 min, turning pork chops once.
- While pork chops are cooking, cut apples in wedges (3).
- With tongs, remove pork chops to platter.
- Add in apples to liquid remaining in skillet, over medium heat; heat to boiling.
- Cook uncovered till wedges are tender and liquid is thick and syrupy, about 10 min.
- To serve, return pork chops to skillet.
- Heat through, turning chops to coat with glaze.
- Makes 6 servings.
- About 425 calories per serving.
