Ginger Lemon Vermoncktail Recipe margaretelise
- 4 shots (1/2 c +) vodka
- 1 piece ginger (peeling unnecessary if washed)
- 1/2 lemon
- 2 T+ good (ie Vermont) maple syrup
- Ginger ale
- Ice
- Chop ginger and let it soak in vodka for at least 4 hours.
- The smaller the pieces and the longer it soaks, the spicier it will be.
- If you slice it into disks, smash them with the end of a heavy knife to break them up a bit and release more flavor.
- Squeeze 1/2 a lemon into the ginger vodka, stir and strain.
- Using fork or small whisk, pour and mix in the maple syrup.
- A shaker would probably work too.
- Divide the mixture into two glasses filled with ice and top with ginger ale.
- I preferred 2 parts vodka mix to 1 part ginger ale.
