Applebee's Honey Glaze Recipe
- 1 c. dark brown sugar
- 1/2 c. cider vinegar
- 1/2 c. beef stock
- 1/2 c. soy sauce
- 1/2 c. honey
- 1/8 c. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp. whiskey
- 1/4 tsp Liquid Smoke Tabasco sauce (to taste)
- 1 Tbsp. garlic (granulated)
- Cornstarch/water mix (as needed to thicken)
- Combine liquid ingredients No.
- 2-10 in saucepan and hot to just below a simmer over low heat.
- You may opt to use a "double boiler" pan to avoid scorching the glaze.
- Next, add in garlic and then slowly add in sugar while stirring.
- In small c./bowl, add in cornstarch to cool water and mix thoroughly till starch is dissolved.
- Increase heat to glaze and slowly stir in the starch/water mix as it thickens.
- Don't bring to full boil.
- Stop just short of the desired final consistency.
- It will continue to thicken.
- Reduce heat to keep hot.
- You may serve on the side of your favorite broiled dish or possibly brush on just before removing from the broiler/grill.
