Maple-Glazed Turkey with Smoked Turkey Stuffing

  1. Follow recipe for Traditional Roast Turkey, using turkey, salt, pepper and butter.
  2. Prepare the glaze: Combine maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce and oil.
  3. During the last hour of roasting, brush turkey every 20 minutes with glaze.
  4. Prepare the stuffing: In a skillet, over medium heat, saute bacon until cooked but not crisp.
  5. Add celery, apple, onion, sage, thyme, rosemary and nutmeg; saute for 3 minutes.
  6. Add bread cubes, smoked turkey, walnuts, broth, salt, pepper and giblets (if using).
  7. Just before serving, stir 1/2 cup (125 mL) turkey drippings into stuffing and reheat.
  8. Serve turkey with stuffing.
